Amanda Ammann, Miss Switzerland 2007

Amanda Ammann, a 20-year-old student from St Gallen, has been crowned Miss Switzerland 2007.

Ammann, 84-65-95, received the most votes from the public and thereby became the first brunette to win the coveted title for four years, following blondes Christa Rigozzi, Lauriane Gilliéron and Fiona Wolfensberger (née Hefti).

The student of international relations comes from canton St Gallen in eastern Switzerland, lives in Lausanne and studies in Geneva. She has said she would like to work for either the United Nations or the Red Cross.

She has been going out with Sebastian for three-and-a-half years, describes herself as "open, affectionate and up for it" and loves "sunsets and sunrises".

she will represent Switzerland in the 57th Miss Universe 2008 Pageant in Nha Trang on July 13, 2008, Vietnam. Also she will represent Kazakhstan in the 58th Miss World 2008 Pageant on October 4, 2008, at the Ukraina National Palace in Kiev, Ukraine.

Sacha Scott, Miss Bahamas Universe 2008

Miss Bahamas Universe 2008 was crowned on March 16 at the Rain Forest Theatre of the Wyndham Nassau Resorts. The winner is 19-year old Sacha Scott a student at the University of Miami. She is the daughter of former titleholder Christina Thompson-Scott, who represented the Bahamas at the Miss Universe Pageant 1983.

Scott stands 1.76 cm tall, and will represent the Bahamas at the Miss Universe pageant to take place in Nha Trang, Vietnam, July 14th.
