The new Miss Russia was crowned Saturday, March 7th, 2009. The event, which was honoured by the presence of Miss World 2008 Ksenia Sukhinova and Miss Universe 2008 Dayana Mendoza, saw the crowning of 18-year old Sofia Rudieva from St. Petersburg. 50 contestants completed for this title.
1.78 m Rudieva will now represent Russia at the Miss World 2009 and Miss Universe 2009 contests in Bahamas.
The 1st runner-ups or “vice-miss” was Svetlana Stepankovskaya.
and The 2nd runner-ups was Ksenia Shipilova.
