Miss World 2008 with Soccer

The eight Miss World candidates from the respective participating countries and continents will lend a helping hand during the upcoming Confederations Cup soccer tournament draw to determine the two groups for the eight-team competition that will take place in 2009.

They are Miss New Zealand Kahurangi Julia Taylor, Miss Egypt Sanaa Ismail Hamed, Miss Brazil Tamara Almeida Silva, reigning Miss World Zilin Zhang, who will represent Asian champions Iraq, Miss South Africa Tansey Coetzee, Miss Italy Claudia Russo, Miss United States Mercia Lane Lindell and Miss Spain Patricia Yurena Rodr 13.

Contestants also met and took photographs with former South African international soccer player Lucas Radebe.

The official ball for the tournment, which is considered the 2nd most important, after FIFA's World Cup, was introduced in the occasion.
