Coetzee is one of 112 contestants competing for the Miss World crown.
The contest – the world’s top beauty pageant – will be decided in Sandton on December 13.
Johannesburg beat Seoul, London, Hong Kong and China’s San Yang Island to win the hosting rights to the event after it was moved from Kiev over fears of political instability in Ukraine’s neighbouring South Ossetia and Russia.
The contestants spend a month in South Africa, exploring the country and being introduced to its culture before the grand finale next month.
“I just love my country,” said Coetzee.
“Every day I learn something new about South Africa.
“It’s so nice when the other Miss World contestants come up to me and tell me ‘your country is so beautiful’.
“‘Your people are so friendly and down to earth’.
“It makes me feel very proud of South Africa.”
Coetzee says she is more than comfortable playing the “home girl” after the pageant was moved to South Africa.
“I’m honoured to give more insight when the girls ask me ‘what is that ingredient in the potjiekos’ or ‘is a cheetah really dangerous’?
“The whole experience is amazing and it will help create great awareness ahead of the Confederations Cup next year and the 2010 Fifa World Cup.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase our great country,” she added.
The contestants are currently in KwaZulu-Natal.
They spent the last week at the Legend Golf and Safari Resort, in the Waterberg region.
The resort has the Entabeni Game Reserve, where the Big Five roam free.
There is also an 18-hole championship golf course, where each hole is designed by one of 18 of the world’s top golfers.
Nine Major winners took part in this uniqe exercise.
The new course is due to open early next year.
