2009 Miss America Preliminary Award night three and Quality of Life Award



LAS VEGAS, January 22: Miss Vermont, Ashley Wheeler (left) and Miss New York, Leigh-Taylor Smith (right) were the winners in the final night of preliminary competition at the Miss America 2009 pageant in Las Vegas.

Miss Vermont, Wheeler, 21 year-old, is from Lyndonville. She won the Talent competition Thursday night with a Vocal performance of "God Bless America". She'll receive a $2,000 scholarship.

While Miss New York, Smith, 22 year-old, is from New York City. She won the Lifestyle and Fitness competition Thursday night with her walk across the stage in a black bikini. She'll receive a $1,000 scholarship.



Also, Miss Kentucky, Emily Cox 22 year-old from Campbellsville, won the Quality of Life Award. While 1st runner-up was Ashlee Baracy (Miss Michigan) and 2nd runner-up was Amanda Tapley (Miss Alabama)

On Saturday, January 24, The crowning of the new Miss America 2009 will air live on TLC Saturday at 8 p.m. EST from the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
