Deepthi Varughese crowned Miss India Worldwide India 2009

Last Saturday night, January 31: Deepthi Mary Varughese aged 23, from Kerala was crowned PC Jewellers Miss India worldwide India 2009 by beated 20 lovelies.

She will represent India in 2009 Miss India World Beauty Pageant

* The 1st Runner-up : Surbhi Mishra, 21, from Dehradun
* The 2nd Runner-up : Rucha Gawas, 21, from Pune

The winner got Rs 1,50,000 cash prize whereas the runner ups got Rs 75,000 and Rs. 50,000 respectively along with gift vouchers.

The judges of the event included filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar; supermodel-actor Milind Soman; fashion designer Rina Dhaka; former Miss India Nafisa Ali; FDCI president Sunil Sethi; choreographer Sandip Soparrkar; actor-entrepreneur Deepak Tijori; CEO of Mudra Communications, Pratap Bose; and Neeraj Kansal, director, ministry of home affairs.
